I remember people saying that being a grandparent is the best - and now I'm living it and it's TRUE! All the fun, without all the responsibility! Although I miss Caitlin and Caleb everyday because I don't see them very often, I do count my blessings that they are doing great and have Jill's Mom and Dennis to check on them regularly. That brings a lot of peace and joy to me that one set of grandparents get to enjoy them often. I also recognize the blessing of having Ethan and Emily close by.
In fact, Tuesday night was our Enrichment Night Christmas Program and Dinner at the church and after a long, hard and somewhat miserable day at work and an hour commute back, I was blessed with a wonderful free dinner, a beautiful Christmas program, Stefanie at my side to share in the festivities, and Emily in my arms during the whole thing. Does life get much better?!
Ok...enough yakking...here are some more bragging pictures!
This is a 5-1/2 day old Emily - isn't she cute?! She is a mini-me of big brother Ethan. When she was born and they put her under the radiant warmer to wrap her up, we all gasped that she looked just like him! Cute, indeed!
Emily at one week old - the jaundice was beginning to fade and she was beginning to look a little less like a pumpkin in coloring.

Of course, we have to put in a couple of pictures of Ethan---here he is showing me his superhero face (mask)! He cracks us up

And, it seems now when we ask him to smile, this is the goofy grin we get. But goofy or not, he's still cute (of course we're not at all biased). Check out those blue eyes!

A note to Caitlin and Caleb:
I love you both very much--and so does Grandpa. We count our blessings everyday that you are both a part of our lives. We miss seeing you and watching you grow up. Hopefully, we'll be able to see you in the spring. Although we have Ethan and Emily nearby, you are always just as close to us in our hearts as they are!
We love you!!!!!!
Love, Grandma and Grandpa Browne
