Baby Love

What is it about a baby that makes everything in the world seem right?! We had an opportunity to visit Stefanie and Emily in the hospital for a couple of days before they came home. Here are a few shots:

In Grandpa's arms: alert and calm
Grandpa had to check out the hat - It looks like Emily may not prefer this fashion choice

Danny, Ethan, and Emily
The Proud Dad and the silly Big Brother
Mom getting a chance to hold Emily
Emily vocalizing her desire to eat and NOW!!! This girl has a set of lungs!

A full belly makes for a content baby. She looks like she's getting a little jaundiced (and she is).

What a blessing it has been to be close by to share in this happy time. And, what a blessing it has been for me to have witnessed the birth of each one of my grandkids! That has probably been the single greatest honor of my life! It's been an incredible opportunity to welcome each one of them into the world moments after they have been born. Thanks Stefanie and Jill for that sacred and special blessing. I love each and every one of these special little spirits and they bring me such joy.

As I look at Emily it makes me reflect back on Caitlin's birth almost 8 and a half years ago. Wow! Time flies! Now Caitlin is a beautiful, young lady. Caleb will celebrate his 5th birthday the day after Christmas, and then Ethan will turn 3 on Jan. 18th. It feels like these three were just as tiny as Emily just a few months ago. Unfortunately with the reflection comes some sadness that I am not able to see Caitlin and Caleb more and watch them grow up. I miss them and I want them both to know how much Grandma Browne loves them. Thank goodness for the blessing of digital cameras and blogs. I visit Jill's blog everyday just to get my fill of those kiddos.

But do you know what the greatest blessing is? Knowing that these special children are being raised and loved by my four wonderful kids! I couldn't be more thrilled. They are phenomenal parents and I'm just so proud of them. It's a little surreal to think of each of my kids as having two of their own kids! But, before you know it, they will be in my shoes and I'll be enjoying great-grand-kids! Ah---the circle of life!

Life is good.

We're blessed!

You brought tears to my eyes. We miss you guys too. I was going to do a Christmas present with pictures and realized I don't have any of you guys with the kids, for the past year and a half. :(
It was a privilege to have you at the birth of both the kids. I don't know what we would have done without you.
The new addition is just a doll. Of course it makes me sad that there are more babies over there, growing up, without me being able to watch. Where does time go? I wish we had a money tree out back and could just pick up and come visit! We love you all.
