OK! I hate to tempt fate because I KNOW that things can always get worse, but we're just having too much "excitement" and I have to think, "when will this be over?"
So, we have the house problem....
Now I have a tooth problem.
A couple of months ago one of my back molars began to complain. Anything cold usually sent me to the ceiling. I then go to the dentist. This is the story:
The news...you need a crown. (I already have several in my head -- I could be considered royalty!)
The process...go to the next appointment where he grounds the molar down.
The history...the new ground down tooth is sitting next to a "hole" from which a molar was extracted probably 6 years ago after it had a root canal and other problems.
The recommendation...a bridge. (Yikes! I'm thinking - Only "old" people get bridges! But then of course, I'd already been living for the past few years missing a tooth ~ sigh)
The "rest of the story"....the bridge will require the tooth on the other side of the hole to be ground down and "crowned" (I'm sure I probably already pick up several radio stations)
Whine, whine, complain, complain....~moan and sigh~
The verdict...I consent (hesitantly) to the bridge after going through every possible option available to me!
I gasp....I learn that the process is expensive!
I suck it up and go to the appointment for the final tooth preparation, the making of dental impressions, and the temporary crowns...
Two weeks later....the bridge is ready.
The "installation" visit ("should take less than 30 minutes")....the porcelain of the new bridge flakes off when ground down to accomodate my bite.
Another dental impression, the broken bridge is used as a temporary, and another appointment in two weeks.
My "less than 30 minutes" appointment has just lasted an hour and a half. But, the next one should be "less than 30 minutes"
Yesterday....my appointment is here! Hooray! The end of this mess.
Not exactly...
Same problem....porcelain chips. The chipped bridge becomes another temporary. An hour later I leave with another appointment on Thursday
Next step...grind more off the back molar and make yet another (the third!) dental impression.
NOW THE LAUGH....While eating, I SWALLOW the temporary bridge. Yes, it's true.
Back to the dentist.....today.
A new bridge in two weeks.
Third time the charm?! Let's hope so!!
The blessing: this has all been a distraction from the house.
Enough already....still looking for that boring life! :-)

Man, that stinks! I hope the third time is the charm.
We're STILL waiting for the sellers to sign the final addendums on our charm. I'm getting a little nervous. I was excited, when I got when I got our home owner's insurance quotes. The guy says "Wow, you guys got a deal. I was looking it up and the apraisal says it's $70,000 over what you paid." Yay! I figure that's a pretty good start. I'll be glad, when this whole process is over and we actually have a house!
ewe....I HATE teeth. No joke....I am a bitter. You would think that because of my loving mother, I would love to have my teeth worked on...WRONG! Send me to the GYNO anyday over the DENTIST!! YUCK!! Good luck. Your story made my mouth hurt:( Sympathy Pains!
hahahaha...I know i shouldn't be laughing but it's funny since it's not me. :) love ya!
