Our property is very wooded and we are always faced with a tree or two that have died and could potentially take out the house, barn, or fence. Well, this tree had been dead for awhile (you can see that the trunk is hollowed out) and since it was right next to the new chicken coop Dave built, he felt like it needed to come down. Unfortunately, I did not get a "Before" picture, but we do estimate the height of the tree at about 60 feet. Dave pulled back the fence around it, calculated the direction he wanted it to fall, hooked up a rope to our Tahoe to keep it from falling where it wasn't supposed to, and dropped it right where he wanted it! Go Dave!
The tree was so dry and brittle that it broke into all these pieces when it landed!
We've definitely got a year's supply of wood for burning!

He reminds me of Paul Bunnion...but where is your ox? I guess you could dye one of the puppies blue and call them "blue..."
Hey Dave, next time you get one of those trees to fall can I have some of the wood? I don't use, much, but I really love using my fireplace. That is a great way to get firewood, wish I had trees here. Oh well. Hope you all are well. I am feeling better thank goodness, I'm just sad that it happened on a holiday, especially one I was supposed to lead my choir on. See you on Sunday. Love, Amy and the boys :)
