The second Saturday in May is Peacock Days in Pavo, Georgia. Since Stefanie and Danny lived in Pavo when they first got married and Danny has family living there, they still visit often. It's about a 20-30 min drive from Thomasville. So, we decided to head to Pavo this past Saturday to participate in the festivities---parade, food and craft booths, games for the kids, and antiques. It was an overcast day, but it was still very warm and humid.
Before the parade began, they started with a prayer
Here is the beginning of the Parade. The Thomasville HS band played the "Star Spangled Banner"
The celebrated bird Every parade in Georgia has to have a tractor!
Of course, we have to have some monkey business. I was so disappointed to find out from Ethan that this was just a man dressed up like a gorilla instead of a real gorilla ;)
Got to have a Confederate hearse

The petting area - Emily LOVED the goats
...and the seemed to like her too. Ethan and Grandma Mainprize are petting the goat in the rear.
Emily's 1st pony ride. She was apprehensive at first, but ended up enjoying it as long as her daddy would hold her hand and walk along
And so did Ethan...
It was a fun day for all!
And here is a 2003 music video made by country-western singer Alan Jackson "The Little Man" that was filmed in Pavo and Barwick Georgia.
We are both native Californians that have managed to migrate around the U.S. We have lived in Utah, Oregon, Washington, Florida, and now Georgia. We have LOVED our adventures and all the friends we have made in the process. We plan to keep on adventuring (maybe not so much moving though...!) We have two great kids, 2 wonderful in-law kids, 4 beautiful grandchildren, 4 adorable poodles, and a huge family of actual family and dear friends. We are very blessed!
Free-spirited and wise. You have a strong passionate spirit that touches and changes all who know you. The wisdom and common sense that you have is really what guides you through life. Even so, you also have a very playful side that loves adventure and excitement.
