Pioneer Day

Disclosure: I didn't take many pictures--I don't know what I was thinking!

Yesterday, we celebrated Pioneer Day with our Church Family. It began with the Bishopric making breakfast---pancakes, sausage, bacon, grits, juice for everyone, and then we headed out in the heat and humidity where we stood around socializing, playing games, and watching the kids race around the parking lot on their bikes (it was supposed to be a parade, but they were all more interested in riding as fast as they could--no parade included).

They had sack races, a race game that resulted in the kids landing in a small kiddie pool (Emily's favorite--she was soaked!) and several other games. Ethan just enjoyed riding his his bike and a good time was had by all.

After the Pioneer Day Activity, we headed out to begin one of many of our chores related to our house: buying floors and doors. But, you can read about that in the next post!

I love it. Emily has the same look on her face as Dave. Same eyebrows and all. Cutie pie!
