Whenever we can, we try to bring the dogs out to the swamp house to run and play. Our rental house has only a small, postage stamp sized yard, so when we can get them out to the house they sure are excited. Last weekend, we headed out there to take some measurements and to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. Spring is a pretty time around Georgia--the flowers are blooming, the skies are blue, and the temps are usually in the 70s without the choking humidity. Since it is short-lived you have to take advantage.
The bulbs that were under 4 feet of water just a few months ago are beginning to grow and bloom

Beautiful!

The dogs LOVE the sunshine. This is usually the scene after they have run around, barked at the neighbor's dogs, and chased squirrels. Pepper is our sunshine girl --she loves to lay in the sun--and has for the almost 15 years she has been around!

Pepper is doing what Pepper does best - basking in the sun!

Riley decided he liked the shade of the picnic table --actually he liked the top of the picnic table, Coco found the shade UNDER the picnic table. Don't they look happy?

And, well, what's a post without a tribute to the mass population of bugs---this fly or whatever actually was kind of pretty in the sun. Surprising...I let him live!
The visits to the swamp are hard---we LOVE our property! But, it's so hard to NOT be afraid of future flooding. But, it's a fun place on days like this...
