Twilight Movie Opening

On November 21st the movie "Twilight" opened around the country. It's an adaptation from the first book of Stephenie Meyer's 4 book saga. It's a fun series that my daughter got me hooked on and then we turned around and sucked-in (no pun intended, Twilighters!) my other daughter Jill(in-law--but she really is more my own). For those of you hold-outs I would recommend the whole series, but for kids under 13 or 14, parents, you may want to pre-read the last book before you encourage your kids to read it (only read the last book if you have already read the other 3--it'll spoil the first 3 if you skip them). Like the Harry Potter series (which I also love) it is an adolescent series (yes, I'm showing my true age) that has become a phenomenon!

So, a group of us decided to go to the theatre on opening day! Dave even decided to brave the crowds and join our group of 6 "Twilight" fans. Sadly, many of our groupies couldn't go! And, poor Jenn, she had a stomach virus on all days!---we missed you Jenn!

The theatre was filled with mostly teeny-boppers. Dave quickly announced that he didn't feel uncomfortable being in a room with only a handful of men, he was more uncomfortable being around all those young teens!

The movie is pretty good overall, since it had to condense 498 pages into 2 hours, but the group of us still picked it apart! Not all the actors met our expectations, but for the most part we were all pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Now for the good news! Production is starting on "New Moon", the second book in the series. Yippee!

But here is the REAL blessing:

Did you see the picture of the four books above? These books were given to me by Jenn who kindly replaced them for me when all of my books were destroyed in our flood! I was pretty bummed when I lost the entire set of four (my Harry Potter's were up on a higher shelf so they were fine! Whew!!) and she took pity on me. THANKS AGAIN JENN!!! I love them and you! :-)

So glad they were replaced. How nice! My mom and I went to see the movie yesterday. I liked it, but wished they could have made the movie 4 hours to actually fit everything in!
