Our home after Tropical Storm Fay

Hey everyone this is Stefanie just leaving everyone a quick post on our blogs to let you know what is going on down here. These are all pictures from my camera. My mom has more and will post those later of the house and even inside.

We are all ok and we got most important papers and almost all pictures out of the house and salvaged but there wasn't much left unfortunately to salvage due to the quality of water it is all wading in(sewage water). Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers from those of whom we have had a chance to hear from. We appreciate all the voicemails (since we've been pretty busy the phones aren't getting answered at the moment). We will call and talk to people as time permits, please understand we're under alot of stress and heartache at the moment.

We will call everyone once the busyness side of things are settled and we can breathe. The water is chest deep when standing outside of the house and about knee deep inside the house. It's a loss but thankfully everyone got out alright and we will be doing all we can here to help my parents out but at least the important stuff is safe and the other stuff is replaceable. The area has been declared a disaster area so hopefully we'll get some government assistance along with the flood insurance my parents thankfully got, many neighbors don't have any flood insurance. So here are a few pictures of what's going on.

The view from the boat launch sight, it's about 3 blocks from my parents house. This is the only way to get to my parents house...via boat.

The stop sign to my parents street. The property you see straight ahead is all my parents spare lots and the pond lot.

Approaching the house the black thing in the water is their mailbox and the white tips are part of their entry fence.

My parent's front yard/driveway.

My parents leaving their house after getting out all that they could.

The front of the house....if you see the green below the windows those are their bushes all underwater.

Carport where their cars once stayed to keep dry...don't worry all cars made it out safe and sound thankfully.

The driveway leaving their house going out to the street.

The lineup of cars from all the wonderful people in the church and other neighbors coming to get their things and help out too. Thank you so much for all your help and support!

The soggy chickens. We have 21 of the 24 chickens in these two pens. The last two were never found.

A few of the neighbors houses. There were more but we didn't get to seeing all the others. We had other priorities.

if you look to the right of the driveway you can see the top of these peoples white sedan.

These people had an aboveground pool...it's about 4 inches from being submerged. Their deck was BRAND new...finished maybe a week ago.

I will help you get what you can out after the water goes down, and you can store it in my garage for as long as you need to. Please let me know if I can do anything else for you or your family. I am thankful that you are safe. We love having you here in the Thomasville ward, you are wonderful people. Love ya, Amy

I am so sorry for all you are going through. My heart just aches for you. If you need anything at all--a place to go, a shoulder to cry on, somewhere to store things, someplace to scream and let it all out, please know that we are here for you. You and Dave continue to be uppermost in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Jenn
