Where Does the Time Go?

I know, it's been a couple of weeks since I have updated this blog. It's been pretty uneventful around here, and I really don't have much to post picture-wise (plus I can't seem to get my computer to recognize my camera card and I don't feel like troubleshooting right now). I guess you could just say we are pretty b-o-r-i-n-g around here! Life is crazy-busy--not enough time in the day to get everything done--but nothing exciting per se. I count my blessings for this lovely boring life. :-)

For me life consists of: work & school OR school & work. I throw laundry-duty, cooking, and the occasional grocery shopping and house, car, or dog-washing in as well (I really need Caitlin's dogwasher---see Jill's blog, last summer). That's about it.

Dave is busy with: work and the yard. His garden has done well in some aspects and miserably in others. His tomatoes and green peppers are doing well, but everything else is struggling. We think we got it planted a little too late for around here. He has been mowing (until our riding mower decided to quit steering), pressure-washing the house and fence, and trying to get odd jobs done around the house. His list gets shorter, but alas, we add things, so he'll really never be done!

On July 4th we took the opportunity to get a few things done around the house and then headed to the movies to see "Get Smart". If you are familiar with the old tv series (and enjoyed it) then you will probably get a kick out of the movie. Steve Carrell is not Don Adams, but he did a great job! And only in this town can we go to the movies at 4:30pm and have the theater entirely to ourselves--yup, it is true!! It was fun--and the movie was great too! LOL!

Then we met up with Danny, Stef, and Ethan to catch the 9:30pm fireworks show here in town. For a smaller town, it is actually quite impressive. The evening even had a breeze so it was comfortable to watch!

Saturday, more chores, and then Stef, Danny, and Ethan came over for a family barbeque. It was nice.

Just an FYI--Ryan and Jill left for Denver on July 3rd and have arrived safely. They have found an apartment and hope to move in in a week or so. The kids fly in with Jill's mom, Cheri, on the 8th. They hope to find a house so they can complete the move in the next 3 months. They have a lot of work ahead of them, but we are thrilled for them and this new adventure in their lives.

Now it's Sunday night and we are getting ready for the week. Here we go again! Now, when is the next day off????

Well, Dave got to the pictures on my camera. Caution: The first picture may be frightening for some (I'm not lying!)

Here we go....

This little guy had been getting into the drawers of my office (yech!). I complained to the maintenance crew, but after a week of no-response, I set my own trap! Our hospital has had some construction work going on and this character got in through my ancient air conditioning unit. Since I didn't want him visiting any of the patients on the floor, I felt it necessary to go directly to the trap. The peanut butter did the trick. So far, he hasn't had any other friends come by to visit.

This tree is right across the hospital. I thought it was just so cool with the blooms and the Spanish moss.

This is the first official tomato from Dave's garden---and it was salmonella-free (and delicious!)

Danny and Ethan playing before the fireworks show!

Ethan loved his grape shaved ice--and he didn't want to share it! The video above contains the conversation we had about shaved ice (very exciting)....

Note: both of our grandsons are left-handed like their Grandpa Browne!

Visiting Papa right before the fireworks started!

You were right--that first picture was frightening for me! Such a brave woman to take matters like that into your own hands!
Boring is good, I guess. But I have missed reading about you and what you're up to, so thanks for the update!
The tomato looked good. Hopefully you'll have more as time goes on.
And the Hawaii Snow was super good! We saw Stef, Ethan, and Danny in line behind us that night. The fireworks were pretty good too, eh?

We went to the fireworks in Thomasville in 2007, but went to Sopchoppy, FL for them this year. They were pretty good. I have heard a lot of people that went to the ones here say they were good again this year. I also agree for a small town they are impressive. I also miss hearing about your busy lives. I understand about your little friend, we had some in our house when we moved in, but I just recently found and plugged the last hole, so hopefully they won't be back in my house either. I missed seeing you on Sunday, I decided to visit my old branch in Crawfordville. I like the tree too. I'll have to send you some of the pictures I took at the beach, they are beautiful.
Have a good week, talk to you soon.
Love, Amy and the boys

Way to go....I can't believe you killed mickey...I would have done the same however. I am not a fan of the little creatures. Just the thought of them sends shivers down my neck! Way to take matters into your own hands:)

This is Will from PETA. We need to talk about hurting harmless creatures. Just kidding. Maybe you could donate it to the nearest vampire clan so they won't be tempted by human blood :). The moss looks like ice and I thought you were lying about the tempreture there and was about to move. The kid keeps getting bigger, maybe I should visit after the new one arrives before he's a teenager. Utah is hot hot hot!
