This past week has been busy and fun. Last weekend Stef, Danny, and Ethan came over for dinner and activities. Stefanie and I picked the figs off of our tree and decided to make strawberry-fig jam. While we made jam, the guys spent time outside playing with Ethan in the kiddie pool. They had fun!
Pureeing the figs

The finished product!

The haul

Meanwhile--- it was fun in the pool

Notice the wonderful fig tree in the back!

To celebrate Pioneer Day, our church ward had a Saturday morning pancake breakfast and water activities. It was in the 80s and very humid
The gathering

The bishopric did the cooking!

Frying up the bacon in a fryer--only in the South!

Yumm!!

They played baseball where the bases were kiddie pools and there was a slip n' slide to slide into home base. The only problem...the kids not playing baseball wanted to play on the slip n'slide. Ethan waited for his turn.

Danny got quite the work out helping Ethan "slide"

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Ethan loved every minute!!!

Water balloon volleyball

Ethan decorated his bike for the parade that took place at the end. He loved riding it in the parking lot with all that open space!

love the pictures, but didn't you take a second pict of me holding the jar of jam because that one had a weird shadow on me in a place i don't need one!
Linda, it sounds like you had a good Pioneer day yourself. This is the first pioneer day I have missed in a long time. I knew that the temple was the place I needed to be that day. Robbie and I had a great time, although the movie was sold out so we didn't get to see it, but we still enjoyed the temple.
Is your fig jam good? I have never had any or even heard of it before. What does a fig taste like? I like the pictures you took of the activities. Thanks also for your sweet comments on my remember when post, I really have enjoyed getting to know you also. I love hearing you teach in R.S., and I love talking to you, and miss when your not at church. The eggs are great too...It's so cute to see you at the end of the drive giving away your eggs. That is a highlight when I get to have fresh eggs. Alright, gotta get to the children, talk to you soon. :) hugs always!!!
The jam looks yummy! Anything with strawberries in it HAS to be good!
I was so sorry to miss the pioneer day activity. It looks like there was a great turnout and it looks like everyone had fun despite the heat!
FANTASTIC new background!!!
