Rose Parade

The last weekend in April is the Rose Celebration. Thomasville is known as the City of Roses (on a MUCH smaller scale than Portland, OR) and on Thursday night there is a children's parade and then on Friday night is the general parade. This is a huge deal around here and the parade actually lasted for about an hour. Thankfully the weather was just perfect---comfortable!

As we walked to our parade spot, we passed the Fire Station and Ethan got a chance to sit in the firetruck! He loved it! Sorry, the pictures are blue-tinted--Dave's camera was in some funny mode and we didn't realize it until too late!

While we were at the station, an emergency call came in and one of the firetrucks had to pull out quickly!

Waiting for the parade to start--Downtown Thomasville. Note that the street is still made of the old bricks!

Danny and Ethan waiting patiently!

A fun evening...Walking back to our car! This deer stands outside of one shop year-round. He was decorated for the festivities.
