The CRAZY Things You Do When Stir Crazy!

Happy Monday Everyone!
Well, I have gone and done it now. What was I thinking??? No, we didn't adopt more puppies (even though I wouldn't mind). No, we're not planning to move. No, we didn't win the lottery (I think you need to play to win). No...none of that. I got myself another full time job!! Yes, it's true! I love being home and I love going to school, but quite frankly, I am just plain stir crazy! I like working. I like being busy. I like building my retirement. What more can I say?! Yes, I will continue with my classes. Yes, I will now have an hour commute each way every day...but you know what? It's OK! I'm ready for another challenge.

I will be working as a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist at a hospital about 60 miles from our home. I will be responsible for nursing practice on the OB (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery) and Pediatric (children) floors. I will be making sure the nurses are following practice standards, will help implement an online charting system, helping new nurses adjust to their practice roles, and working with administration as the hospital advances to Magnet status recognition. Of course there will be other fun stuff, but I'm not sure quite what yet. It's a nice hospital with 335-beds and about 2300 employees. I start a week long orientation on March 17th.

The hospital is also very supportive of my school goals, so they will give me some flexibility to my schedule to help with that! Hooray! Now...what am I going to wear?...I guess my pjs are no longer an option...
